We're Getting Excited

We've been reading some other recent adoptive blogs, and it seems USCIS is tending to have a faster turnaround time than previously thought.  We have ECAS to thank for assembling such a complete package.  USCIS scheduled Josiah for his biometrics on 02/09/11, but we've learned from many bloggers that many of these offices will allow walkins, especially if you have the USCIS biometrics letter.  So Josiah is coming with us on Thursday.  The worst thing that can happen is they say "No".

I've noticed now on many blogs that the approval letter, called an I-171H letter, often comes just two weeks after submittal of biometrics.   Due to this, ECAS is helping us put together what will be a huge dossier that will get sent to Ukraine.  There are 24 separate documents, all which have to be Apostiled (you may want to Google that one).  We essentially have two weeks and three days to get it all done, which includes blood tests and physicals for Nellie and I.  But after three weeks of waiting, it is exciting again to be moving forward.  Assuming all goes well in this timeline, we should be able to get our SDA appointment in Ukraine in mid-April.  We are praying, though, for an appointment even sooner, since the moratorium is still a possibility.

We updated our web page address.  I hope that hasn't made people unable to find the blog.  We greatly appreciate all who follow our story and pray with us.  It is hard to wait so long to see Anya again, but moving forward, and making steady progress really helps pass the time.  Please pray with us the USCIS will allow Josiah to be fingerprinted on 02/03/11, and that our approval gets sent to us by the 17th.

Nellie and I are working on a letter to send to Anya.  We are telling about our visit with Grandma and Grandpa (Nellie's parents) this past weekend.  Nellie's Dad has been telling everyone about Anya.  The excitement in their eyes is glowing....this is such a signature of when God is moving.  Praise Him.

Please pray for:

1) USCIS to allow Josiah to have biometrics with us on 02/03/11
2) Approval of I-171H form by 02/17/11
3) For our dossier to come together in  time for mailing on 02/18/11

We really need your prayers!  Thanks for following.

  1. It would be interesting to know what some of these abbreviations stand for. :)
