Just Witnessed a Miracle
I've had visions, seen miracles first hand, seen God's word proved true over and over...but witnessing someone accepting Christ...nothing compares. I feel like I'm in heaven right now, and I'm in awe right now at the amazing faithfulness of God. Tonight, Anya accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. I made clear to her that praying to accept Christ is not something to do to please Mom or Dad...it was a decision she makes all for herself. After she prayed, I told her that all of heaven, all the angels, and every person in heaven was celebrating right now. She asked if it was for everyone who accepted Christ. I said, it was for her alone, and then told her about John 3:16. She was amazed.
It reminds me very much of my Dad, Edward Moore. My dad resisted Christ strongly. But we kept praying for him for 20 years. It was at my brother Ted's funeral, that my dad wheeled over to Nellie, my wife, and told her, "last night I accepted Jesus as my Lord and savior". The night before, I had sat with Dad, and he had asked me if Ted (my brother) knew the Lord. I told him I did not know, but that it was never too late for him to make the decision. At an event that was supposed to be mournful and sad, I was rejoicing. My daughter Hannah, when learning the news, burst into tears, tears of joy, as she and a group in Oklahoma had long prayed for my Dad.
Please pray for Anya. Our enemy will try hard to sow much doubt in her. We are well aware of his schemes. I do not know, but I also suspect, someone in Ukraine has been praying for Anya and Samuel. God always moves through prayer. I see the miraculous, but I know much sowing goes in the ground before a crop is raised. Thank you God for that faithful person who prayed for Anya.

Congratulations Anya and welcome to the family of God. Congratulations Dave and Nellie. I just thought I'd go "around the horn" in looking at blogs I hadn't checked on in quite awhile and your 2 recent posts in March.
ReplyDeleteGod is good as you already know and have given all glory to. Jeanne and I will pray for these children...their healing, their deliverance and their restoration onto all things godly, good and righteous. We will also pray for the both of you and your other children for more grace, more mercy and breakthrough as a family.
It is amazing that we're on a year to oalmost the date that we left to Kyiv. We began reading our blog (our adoption story)this month for each day matching the same day's blog entry a year ago. It's interesting so far to see Jason's response to the entries so far (mainly all the emotional as well as physical preparation to go). Lucas gets it because he lived it out loud with us. For Jason, he's getting a sense of it now that he understands English and a bit about American life.
Dave, God bless you, Nellie and your children. Thanks for blogging.
