Brief Note Today from Ukraine
I spoke with our lawyer and our coordinator today and while I think we got the judge to sign off on the court decree, I know for sure tomorrow we are going for new birth certificates. These guys know their system, so I'm just following them and letting them do their jobs. I'll know a ton more tomorrow after meeting with our coordinators to make arrangements for the children to move to the apartment with Zach and myself. Some issues have to be weighed, such as what day is best for the children if we are running around getting records done. I've seen other families that did not get the kids right after Gotcha day. There are issues to consider. I've prayed, and others have prayed very much about this...much I'll share about in detail later (warning - not everyone will come out smelling like a rose on this one - but this blog is also for those that follow).
The bottom line all of us who pursue adoptions are after is to please God, by giving children with no parents, what God intended that child to have, parents. With the court decree, Nellie and I become the parent and legal guardian of these two children, so their welfare now becomes Nellie and my charge. We take this great honor seriously, and intend to pursue their best interest with every ounce of strength we have. We have a plan, and have prayed about it much, and we believe God has given us his direction in this matter.
The enemy is slinging arrows in opposition but we are not deterred, because greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world. Nellie and I are completely unified in our approach.
We are grateful in so many ways for your prayers, Saints. Where would we be without you?
One last note: please pray for persecuted believers in Egypt. They are facing martyrdom for their faith, right now, real time. Pray the blood of Jesus over them, to protect them. Thanks.
