Thanks For Prayers - still need you all though

Today was a grueling day in which Igor and Victor (names used with their permission) worked their unbelievable abilities to get the Ukrainian passports completed.  It was a full day of paperwork, running from one office to another, pleading with one powerful official, and a late run to get the passports with Sergei and Igor.  I've been told in the past the coordinators in Kiev are amazing, but I could not grasp it.  I call Igor Superman and Victor Rocketman.  When ECAS says they are doing everything for us they possibly can, they are right.

With the Ukrainian passports in hand, I've now completed all the embassy paperwork I can figure out.  It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought.  All the legal paperwork needed for the embassy has already been carefully prepared, so we are ready to roll.  I expect tomorrow to be another stellar day.  The first embassy appointment is at 9:30 am, then the medical exams, and the interview and 2nd appointment at 2:00 pm.  We will then wait at the embassy for the Visa's to be printed.

Thanks to all of your for praying about our flight.  Not only did they give us the adoption rate, we got a bigger discount, thanks to our friends at Golden Rule Travel.  The flight is now booked.  If something goes wrong with the Visa, the change fee seemed worth the investment now to book and know I have a flight.  I'd say the departure likelihood right now is 95% for Saturday.

Which means on Saturday, we'll be back home.  God bless America, the land I love.

Please continue to pray.  I'm sick, and Zach is mentally and physically exhausted.   For Anya's sake, we have withheld the information about the Saturday flight in the small chance there is a delay.  But I've got two days for the passport printer to work, and your prayers were answered with the Ukraine authorities, even when it looked very bleak...I feel confident.  Samuel will join us tomorrow after a two day sleepover at the orphanage.  It was much better for him during this couple day stretch.

Zach and I keep talking about doing a "William Miller" when we return to the USA.  If you've ever seen 'Almost Famous', the young kid is so tapped out when he gets home that he falls face first on his bed, and stays there for what appears to be a week.  I don't think Zach and I have another 6 days left in us staying in Kiev.  We need to head home.  Thanks for your prayers.  And thanks to Judy at ECAS who helped us out three times tonight.
